time for a stretch
so i made a little tutorial for a friend of mine with my own way of rigging stretchy limbs. I hope it works for his project. So now im posting for everyone else why not share the little knowledge i have in the world.

trolly wolly
well looks like i got away with my last update with no scraps or bruises XD. So i thought i add a update for ye on the rock troll :D end poly count 1300 im happy with that .
few touch ups on the texture left then he is ready for rigging and a few animations thrown on him.
ps. crystals my idea and they may be removed on final model meaning the poly count would be 1000 or sumthing like that

Update time is here again tralalalala.
Not much to update on only that finally my web seems "fixed" i say as my connection probably dies again. but any whooooo's here is the steam punk assassin robot thing so far alot more detail to be put on him and the rest of him (im sorry i was busy :P ) so far im up to 1400 polies but that's cool plenty left to play with before i bring him in to zbrush and give him some awesome scratches, decals and all that jazz(hmmmm i think i will try fit the writing all that jazz on him some where ha ).
But a quick run through of what i have done so far.
The main body Armour is made out of 2 separate planes and use the edge flow technique in 3ds max to form the main shape. the cogs are cylenders with extrudes on everyother poly on the out side edge. Each back bone is made from a box and a plane to make them ringy things. hydrolics are simply 2 cylinders one smaller than the other. Well looks like the render is done so i wont waste any more of ur time typing all this up and making u think its important when its not its just me wasting time while i render :P .
P.s. I know what your thinking either i type super fast or my render is slow. its a little from column A and a little from column B
P.P.S. This is the 3rd time i had to model this due to pc crashing

Another week without real web connection and to busy to go town to Internet cafe with building at home. So I scrambled through my magazines and books and priced this guy together today during a 2 hour period. Heavily influenced by a lot of concept art I was looking at but they were all in 2d so let's see how this stuff works for game models. My target poly count this time will be about 4000 so a lot more to play with :) more updates to follow

Well there is the unwrap done phew :D all hand unwrapped for that home cooked taste. No fancy shmancy unwrapping programs. Personally i think people who are taught just to use a specific plug in way to unwrap is useless in the real world. Learning the basics you can easily transfer all your talents and knowledge from one program over to a new one that a client or a studio is using.
EDIT- Forgot to mention got him from that 1100 poly to 830 poly oooooooo yeah :D

Low poly update on this little dude. Making it a personal challenge to make him as low poly as possible so it will run on ipad. My limit for him is 900 so far he is 1000 hehehe so bit of clean up is needed but as its only a rough mock up so far for scale i can easily get finished model out for like 800(i hope)

Well look what it has come to. All the cool kids have blogs up so i just had to follow the crowd. This will be where i make few characters for games hope to post one up every week and keep this place pretty busy with stuff. So updates will mainly appear here on sundays but i will post mid week with WIP if i have time.
